Ilayda & Ercan

Our goal with every wedding is to make sure the couple are comfortable in front of the camera. It’s easy to pose when you can see yourself in a selfie. However, when the camera lens is pointing at you and the screen isn’t there it’s a different story. When we met Ilayda and Ercan they explained that they weren’t very comfortable when taking photos, that they felt a little awkward at times when posing. In these instances, it’s important for us to create moment’s where the couple can forget where they are and just enjoy the moment.

In most cases what we hear is “I want it to look natural.” That means something different for each couple. For some it means photographing them from a distance, for others it means lightly posing them but allowing them to move around and have fun.

With this couple, we gave them the space they needed to forget we were there. Allowing moments of silence, then humour to lighten the mood and allow them to be themselves. After a few minutes, we broke past the shy exterior and were able to capture the true feelings they have for one another.
